ON-SITE classes were again suspended in several areas in the country, including Metro Manila due to extreme heat conditions.
The schools opted to shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities due to the extreme heat.
In Metro Manila: Caloocan City (kinder to senior high school, public); Malabon City (public schools); Muntinlupa City (blended learning modality for kinder to Grade 12, public (May 13-17)); Pasay City (all levels, public and private (May 13-14)0; and Valenzuela City (heat index forecast to reach 42°C; face-to-face classes are automatically suspended for kinder to senior high school, public and private, when heat index reaches 42°C).
In the provinces among that suspended where: Bulacan (all levels, public and private from May 8 until a new directive is issued; Iloilo City (all levels, public and private (May 13-14). Schools with air-conditioned classrooms may decide whether to hold classes); Tanza, Cavite (afternoon classes for kinder to senior high school, public (May 13-17)0; Umingan, Pangasinan – afternoon classes for pre-school to senior high school, public (until May 31) Schools.
Likewise the University of Caloocan City (UCC) suspended onsite classes for graduate Studies, all levels.
