Kabayan now an LPA; storm signals lifted

STORM signals have been lifted after Tropical Depression Kabayan weakened into a low pressure area, PAGASA said Tuesday.

Kabayan, which made landfall in Manay, Davao Oriental, on Monday, started losing strength as it crossed the rugged terrain of Mindanao.

It further weakened and became an LPA, which was spotted 290 kilometers west southwest of Zamboanga City at 3 a.m.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Quezon, and Aurora because of the LPA and shear line.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).
