THE enrollment period for School Year 2024-2025 in all public schools across the country has started today, July 3, 2024, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
According to the Department Memorandum 32 s. 2024 which was signed by DepEd Undersecretary Nolasco Mempin, the said enrollment for students in public elementary and secondary schools starts today until July 26.
It also includes community learning centers.
According to the DepEd, the enrollment can be done in-person, remotely, or through dropbox forms.
The said dropbox forms are located in schools and barangay halls.
On the other hnd the private schools, including the state and local universities and colleges (SUCs/LUCs), as well as the Philippine Schools Overseas (PSOs) which are offering basic education, can likewise adopt their own enrollment procedures which are consistent to their charters or school manuals, as well as applicable DepEd policies.
They also are required to report their official enrolment through the schools division offices on or before July 22.
Meanwhile, the PSOs shall submit their own to the Private Education Office.
‘The SY 2024-2025 is set to start on July 29, 2024 and will end on April 15, 2025.
In May, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. approved the move to start reverting gradually to the old school calendar, ending the incoming school year earlier than originally planned.
Some 27 million learners were enrolled in over 47,000 public schools nationwide last year.
