FORMER Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will be facing pre-trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague, this Friday night (Manila time) for his hearing regarding his crime against humanity amidst his drug-on-war agenda.
The schedule was announced by ICC spokesperson Fadi El Abdallah one day after Duterte was taken into the custody of the international tribunal on Wednesday evening, March 12, 2025.
“Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s initial appearance is scheduled to take place on Friday, 14 March 2025 at 14:00 hours (The Hague local time or 9:00 p.m. Philippine time), before Pre-Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Court,” said in an advisory made by the ICC.
The announcement comes to put an assurance amongst Duterte supporters—ending the speculation claiming that Duterte is not in the ICC’s detention facility.
He also confirmed that Duterte is at the ICC detention center in Schevening last night; debunking the claim of former Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea–saying that he was not in the facility.
Abdallah added on Thursday, that the former president was admitted after undergoing multiple medical checkups.
