ON Monday, Darryl Yap’s legal team requested for Muntinlupa regional trial court (RTC) to consolidate the cases filed against him following the release of the teaser trailer of “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.”
Last January 9, Filipino actor Vic Sotto filed 19 counts of cyber libel claims and a P35-million lawsuit over the teaser trailer of the film, “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma,” involving his name by accusing him of rape.
According to Sotto, no one from the movie production had ever consulted him–contesting the claim of Yap’s lawyer, Atty. Raymond Fortun that Sotto was given a copy of the script before the teaser’s release so he can give a comment to it.
“The Rapist of Pepsi Paloma,” director Darryl Yap is the respondent in a petition for a writ of habeas that was filed by Vic Sotto before the Muntinlupa RTC Branch 205.
In addition to combing the cases, Yap’s legal team requested for the court to postpone the January 15 hearing for the writ issuing petition.
In the petition for the issuance of a writ, Sotto urged the court to order Yap to take down all the promotional materials, teaser video, and other content that are related to the film that depicts the personal information of Sotto.
Sotto also requested that the court forbid Yap from sharing any more content that are related to the film on all platforms.
