SEVERAL parts of the country will have cloudy skies and light rains on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
From Monday to Tuesday, the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line, PAGASA said in its weekly weather outlook released on December 29, 2023.
The rest of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and Metro Manila will have mostly cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies are forecast for the rest of the country.
Sea travelers were advised ‘’to exercise extra caution’’ due to the surge of Amihan, which may result in rough to very rough sea conditions, particularly on the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon, and Eastern Visayas.
