Cedric Lee surrenders to NBI

BUSINESSMAN Cedric Lee, who had been found guilty of serious illegal detention with model Deniece Cornejo and two others, is now under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation after surrendering.

Reports said that Lee surrendered himself at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday when NBI agents took custody of the convict in Mandaluyong.

He was taken to the NBI headquarters in Quezon City at around 8 p.m.

Television interviews quoted Lee as saying that he decided to submit himself to the authorities, as his lawyers prepare his appeal before the Court of Appeals.

On Thursday, a Taguig local court found Lee, Cornejo, Ferdinand Guerrero, and Simeon Raz, guilty of illegally detaining TV host and actor Vhong Navarro in 2014.

The Taguig RTC-Branch 153 said in its 94-page decision found them guilty of serious illegal detention for ransom under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code.
