NAIA’s problem with pests continues.
On Friday, an overseas-bound traveler posted a video of a rat running near the ceiling in the pre-departure area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.
“Hello NAIA, una surot, ngayon naman may daga sa international departure? Yung totoo?!?!” said @Curve251 on X, formerly Twitter.
Before this, the netizen posted a mirror selfie and wished that there were no bed bugs at the airport.
On Wednesday, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) apologized after some airport users were bitten by bed bugs.
In a statement, the MIAA said the incidents reportedly happened at Terminals 2 and 3.
MIAA General Manager Eric Ines said the bed bugs may have originated overseas.
“How can that be, particularly that these chairs are made of steel? We’re not going to make excuses, but I saw the chairs. How can a bug stay there unless somebody brings it there? I’m not saying hindi puwede mangyari, it can happen,” Ines said in a GMA Integrated News report on Thursday.
Ines had already ordered the conduct of comprehensive facility inspections and enhanced sanitation measures at NAIA.
