THE Denver Nuggets finally beat the Boston Celtics ending three years of futility against the NBA’s top team, 123-111. This was a battle between the top two teams in the league.

The Celtics had a 26-10 win-loss record and the Nuggets with 23-12 heading into this. It was West versus East. A match up that will decide who is top dog and the Nuggets came out on top.

Denver shot 57 percent from the field. Center Nicola Jokic led the team with a triple double scoring 30 points to go with 12 assists and 12 rebounds.

The home team did it beyond the arc to keep the visiting Celtics at bay all throughout the game. They made 17 out of 30 three pointers for 51 points.

There were questions asked before the game whether the West leading Nuggets could take the physicality of the eastern top teams . Denver passed with flying colors.

They beat the Miami Heat prior to this game and led the east top team all game overcoming a 34 minute delay in the 4th as the technical staff were trying to fix a misaligned ring caused by a Celtic player after a dunk.

The Nuggets took the lead with 7 minutes 25 seconds left in the first quarter after a Jovic turn around shot and never looked back. They were leading all four quarters in a dominant performance.

Aside from Jovic’s triple double, power forward Bruce Brown scored 21 points. Micheal Porter Jr. had 19 points and three others players were in double figures for a well balanced Denver attack.

Jalen Brown was top scorer for the Celtics with 30 points.

The Nuggets are playing the Minnesota Timberwolves next while the Celtics are traveling to Oklahoma for a game against the Thunder.
