Two workshops dedicated to musical theater enthusiasts are opening their slots at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

If you are one of those who want to enhance their musical skills or start a career in musical theater, workshops of Trumpet Playshop and musical director Rony Fortich might be of big help for you.

Trumpets Playshop’s classes

Trumpets Playshop opened the second batch of their musical theater workshops for children, pre-teens, and teens.

The 30-year-old performing arts theater is currently accepting enrollees aged 3.5 to 6 for children’s theater, 7 to 12 years old for musical theater pre-teens, and 13 to 16 years old for musical theater teens.

Trumpets Playshop is also offering dance classes for kids aged 5 to 12.

Classes will begin on July 5, while the target recital date is August 6 to 9.

Rony Fortich’s workshop

Fortich will be guiding aspiring performers and theater enthusiasts, aged eight and older, as they traverse the world of musical theater through in-depth workshops.

Fortich was awarded the Walt Disney Legacy Award for his contributions to the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort as its music director from 2005 to 2017. Back home, he has worked with various theater actors and companies, including Trumpets, Atlantis Productions, Actor’s Actors Inc., and Repertory Philippines.

His experience in musical theater will be shared in his four classes, which will be divided based on participants’ ages.

Fortich will have musical theater and song interpretation workshops for kids aged 8 to 12, teens aged 13 to 18, and adults aged 19 and above.

These classes require the students to have knowledge of musical theater: children must know at least three musical theater songs and be open to learning more; teen participants must memorize several musical theater songs; and adult participants must have musical theater experiences.

There will also be an audition workshop open to all ages. It will begin with a mock audition where students will perform a 32-bar piece.

The workshop will start on June 28 and last for two hours per session. There will also be an on-site recital that will take place on July 23.
