ACTOR Jake Cuenca heated up the stage by going topless as the Parade of Stars concluded at the Quezon City Circle Wednesday, December 21.
Headlining the movie “My father, myself,” an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022, Cuenca made audiences, who feasted on his chiseled body, shriek in surprise and admiration.
His movie, also starring Sean de Guzman, Dimples Romana and Tiffany Grey indeed, is one of the most controversial entries this year.
A story about intense incestious relationships, “My Father, Myself” is a compelling Christmas treat that graphically showcases taboo affairs.
In fact, when its trailer was released on November 4, it immediately received mixed reactions from the netizens.
Giving its twisted double incest plot a lowdown, human rights lawyer Mathew (Sean de Guzman) gets his adoptive sister pregnant and his mom (Dimples Romana) forces them to marry. The catch is, he is having an affair with his adoptive dad Robert (Cuenca) who is a closeted gay.
“It’s a brave film,” Cuenca told republicasia during the MMFF Parade of Stars Wednesday.
Indeed the movie is so brave the cast went to “the fullest extent,” said Cuenca.
MMFF 2022 is set to run from December 25 to January 7. The Gabi ng Parangal will be held at the New Frontier in Quezon City on December 27.
