by Izel Abanilla

Longtime friends Lolit Solis and Ai-Ai delas Alas expressed happiness at King of Talk Boy Abunda’s return to GMA Network 23 years after his departure in 1999.

In an Instagram post, the ever opinionated veteran talent manager Solis praised the grand welcome that the network gave the premier talk show host during his “homecoming” Thursday, December 15.

Solis also described how “cool” and “generous” Abunda is, especially with his staff. She also expressed excitement and curiosity for Abunda’s wardrobe on his upcoming show.

Congrats kuya Boy, the long wait is over sa paghihintay na mapanuod ka uli sa TV. Abangan ko mga shirts mo, harbatin ko talaga, hah hah, ang mga signature outfit na hindi kaya talbugan ng kahit sino pa, bongga,” she said.

Ai-Ai delas Alas also had the same sentiment over Abunda’s move.

Bonggang bongga, I love you Ama. Welcome to Kapuso,” she said through a video message care of GMA Network.com.

In 1994, Abunda, delas Alas, Solis and actress Gretchen Barretto hosted the GMA showbiz program “Show & Tell” in 1994.

Abunda and Solis then went on to host its spinoff show “StarTalk” in 1995 together with Kris Aquino. In 1999, he transferred to ABS-CBN.

Abunda also used to manage delas Alas.
