Aldzcar Aurelio, Pagasa weather specialist, said the easterlies or the hot wind from the Pacific Ocean would bring hot weather to the country.
Meanwhile, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, and Surigao del Norte experienced heavy rains at dawn today due to the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
Aurelio said they are not monitoring any low-pressure area within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The Northeast monsoon (hanging amihan) is not yet felt in the country, but northern Luzon residents may start feeling the chill on Wednesday and Thursday.
Effects of localized thunderstorms, ITCZ
Expect localized thunderstorms in eastern parts of Luzon:
Cagayan
Isabela
Aurora
Quirino
Bicol region
Due to ITCZ, expect cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in eastern Visayas and Caraga.
“Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains,” the Pagasa weather advisory warned.
Weather outlook
Metro Davao, Legazpi City, and Metro Cebu may start experiencing cloudy skies with rains and thunderstorms beginning Wednesday.
Temperature check
Baguio and Malaybalay in Bukidnon recorded the coldest temperature yesterday at 16 degrees and 16.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Mercury soared to 34.8 degrees and 34.6 degrees Celsius in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, and Catbalogan City, Samar, respectively.
