National youth-led organization Philippine Youth Association for Responsible Mining and Natural Resources (YAMAN Philippines) is set to hold its 8th YAMAN Student Congress on November 15-17 at Baguio City.
In conjunction with the 69th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC), the 3-day event will focus on nurturing the youth to be the new guardians of the mineral industry.
The congress will gather around 200 Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Geology students from different universities in the country.
With this year’s theme, “Constellations of Change: Navigating Through a Better Future”, the delegates will engage in various activities tackling responsible mining and resource management.
For sustainability and advocacy efforts, the event will hold the “Cosmic Grove: a Tree Planting Project” and Minerals Industry Parade.
Academic pursuits will include the “Youth Leaders Forum: Debate” and the “Ultimate YAMAN Quiz Bee”.
There will also be the YAMAN Gala 2023 with the “Mister & Miss YAMAN Philippines 2023” and “YAMAN Awards Night”.
Delegates will also have an opportunity for an industry immersion with a visit to the ANMSEC Exhibit.
The student congress organized by YAMAN Philippines provides a platform for students to meet new people and amplify the advocacies for responsible mining and conservation of environment and natural resources.
