THE queen of deadpan is far from done.
After three years of silence (her preferred form of communication), Wednesday Addams returns with a vengeance— and a brand new season.
Netflix has announced that the official trailer from Wednesday Season 2 will drop on April 23 (April 24 for us in the Philippines), teasing more mystery, more mayhem, and even more misery. Just the way she likes it.
As a preview, Netflix shared a first look at the series with an eerie new poster.
“The suffering ends, the chaos begins,” they captioned.
Jenna Ortega is set to reprise her role as the eternally deadpan Wednesday Addams, and the second season promises to delve deeper into the macabre world of Nevermore Academy.
Alongside Ortega, fans will see the return of Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, continuing to bring their own dark flair to the Addams family.
The cast also includes Emme Myers, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, and others.
While fans have plenty to look forward to from the returning cast, one addition has them particularly excited: Lady Gaga.
Though details about the pop icon’s role remain a mystery, her cameo stirred a lot of excitement, and fans are particularly eager to see what macabre she would add to the already twisted story.
Ortega’s portrayal in the series has brought her widespread recognition, earning her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
Wednesday is a supernatural mystery series that follows the iconic, deadpan Wednesday Addams during her years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
Season 1 saw Wednesday trying to untangle the mystery of a series of killings in the town of Jericho while dealing with her new life at Nevermore. Along the way, she found herself caught up in unexpected friendships, dark secrets, and a battle with her own emerging abilities.
Wednesday Season 2 is written and showrun by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, known for their work on Smallville. Tim Burton serves as an executive producer and director for several episodes, alongside Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson.
