Wedding bells to ring for Kim Molina, Jerald Napoles

LONGTIME couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles took their relationship to the next level as an engaged couple.

The 33-year-old actress shared on Monday, August 12, their engagement photos taken at PETA Theater Center in Quezon City. The venue is a special place for Molina and Napoles as it was where they first met.

“Back to where we first met, the exact spot where it all started.. it has always been a ‘YES,’ and will forever choose you. I love you, [Jerald Napoles],” wrote Molina.

It was a magical moment for the couple as the theater stage was filled with fairy lights and sunflowers.

In the photo, Molina was emotional as Napoles knelt in front of her and offered a ring to ask her hand for marriage. 

The couple wore casual outfits, with Molina wearing a yellow floral romper while Napoles was clad in a black-and-white striped shirt and light denim pants. 

It resembled the exact scenario they had during PETA’s hit comedy musical “Rak of Aegis” in 2014, where they played the roles of Aileen and Tolits.

Marriage proposal

In a behind-the-scenes video posted by the photo and video services on TikTok, Molina was visibly confused and astonished as she entered the venue with instrumental music playing in the background.

“Sabi mo pictorial?” said Molina.

She then noticed an LED signage that read, “Will you marry me?” which made her break down in tears.

Napoles then entered the PETA stage and began his speech, looking back 10 years ago on the day they first met at the venue for the comedy musical.

“This stage has given me a lot of things in my life—progress, dreams, goals, career, a name, a family, friends, new friends, and of course, [a] special someone,” Napoles said, pointing at Molina.

Napoles revealed that he had been attempting to propose marriage to Molina since last year, but it didn’t push through due to several circumstances.

“Pasensya na sampung taon ang inabot,” said Napoles. “Marami na tayong challenges kaya hindi rin matuloy-tuloy.”

The couple remained strong together despite the obstacles they went through, which Napoles was grateful for.

“Maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng pagmamahal na binigay mo, at maraming salamat sa pagpunta… sa birthday ko,” he jested. “Maraming maraming salamat sa pagsama sa’kin sa loob ng sampung taon at sana madagdagan pa ‘to.”

Following “Rak of Aegis,” Molina and Napoles starred in several projects together including comedy films “Jowable” and “Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam.” They recently participated in the comedy series “LOL: Last One Laughing,” aired on Prime Video.

Meanwhile, several celebrities and netizens couldn’t be happier for the newly engaged couple.

Celebrities KaladKaren, Meg Imperial, Carla Abellana, Criza Taa, Aiko Melendez, Empoy Marquez, Sue Ramirez, Janno Gibbs, John Prats, Aicelle Santos, and Jona commented on Molina’s Instagram post to congratulate her and Napoles.

“Awwwwww congratulations mare!!!! Welcome to the club!!!!!!” commented Kaladkaren, who recently got engaged for the second time with her longtime British fiancè.

“Yiii finally! Ang forever mo Kim!” said Imperial.

Santos, meanwhile, got emotional about the engagement news and said, “Naiiyaaaaak aaakkooooo!!! Love you two so much!!!”
