Want to experience walking on a glass bridge? Try it in Batangas

ONCE only popular abroad, Pinoys need to no longer book and prepare a plane ticket and visa just to experience the famous glass bridge attraction in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province of China.

This is because Batangas offers the first glass walkway here in the Philippines that will soon be available for the public viewing.

Nestled in Barangay Pagkilatan, Montemaria Batangas, the glass walkway stands 45 meters high and stretches 118 meters in length. An ideal haven for thrill-seekers eager to embrace their inner daredevils. The walkway features three-inch-thick glass, reinforced with imported metals for added support and stability.

Besides the soon-to-be-open glass walkway, what else does Montemaria have to offer tourists?

Montemaria Pilgrimage

Montemaria in Batangas serves as a pilgrimage center devoted to Mary, The Mother of All Asia. Beyond attracting tourists, it also welcomes devotees and pilgrims. Additionally, it is considered as a potential tourism and retirement village.

The main attraction of this pilgrimage center is the “Mother of All Asia – Tower of Piece” a statue of Mary which is built on top of a plateau with an 148 meters elevation above sea level, overlooking the passage of Verde Island.

Mother of All Asia – Tower of Piece is a monument dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary as a symbol of peace and unity in Asia and to the whole world. The statue of Blessed Virgin Mary has a height of 98.15 meters or 322 feet measured from the ground up to the tip of the cross on top of her crown.

The Montemaria Miracle Walk

This Glass attraction elevates the Montermaria Pilgrimage and will offer fresh air and an atmosphere of walking on air with a perfect breathtaking view of Batangas Bay. A once in a lifetime experience with a mix of thrill adventure and appreciating the beauty of surroundings.

As of this writing, the Montemaria Miracle of Walk still undergoes its documentation to its Local Government Unit (LGU) and will soon undergo water and pressure tests to ensure public safety.

The said attraction commenced last 2023, and would probably be available for the public and accepts tourists before the Christmast of 2024 with an estimated entrance fee of Php 250 to Php 350.
