Up-and-coming K-pop boy group 3WAY hunts for Pinoy member

AN IDOL boy group under NineTwo Entertainment is set to make its debut in the music scene, but one member is still missing.

This prompted the South Korean entertainment company to team up with ShowBT Philippines to hold auditions and select an aspiring Filipino idol who will complete the K-pop boy group 3WAY.

On Facebook, ShowBT Philippines, which previously handled P-pop kings SB19, said that the audition period for “3WAY PROJECT” in the country is extended to August 29 at 10 a.m. It kicked off on August 14.

The initial deadline was August 24, based on the Google form provided by ShowBT Philippines in its post.

Qualifications

The labels are looking for a male aspiring idol, aged 16 to 25 years (born from 1999 to 2008).

To audition, they are required to submit the following:

A video of them dancing to 3WAY’s “On My Way”

Another dance cover of any song (46-60 seconds)

A singing cover of any song (45-60 seconds)

Applicants who pass the pre-screening will move on to the final auditions on August 31.

3WAY is an idol group that “aims to connect different cultures and nations for neverending possibilities.”

The boy group currently has eight members, five of whom are South Korean and three are Japanese. They are Xiho, Donghyun, Hyecheon, Wooseok, Ryo, Rintaro, Leno and Jeongyoon.

Jeongyoon serves as the leader of the boy group while Wooseok is the main dancer.

3WAY’s main vocalists are Hyecheon and Rintaro.

3WAY revealed in an introduction video that they have prepared events to introduce their group to Filipino audiences, including busking, mall shows, and appearances on television programs in the country.

This will not be the first time that a Filipino artist will join an international idol group. Filipina artists Gehlee Dangca and Elisia Parmisano recently debuted in the K-pop girl group UNIS while Sophia Laforteza debuted in the global girl group KATSEYE.

HORI7ON, an all-Filipino global boy group, also made their debut in the music scene in 2023.
