University in Laguna goes viral for “English Only Policy”

THE University of Cabuyao in Laguna recently went viral after implementing an English-only policy within their campus. 

Posted on the university’s official Facebook page, the University of Cabuyao implemented this policy  “to uphold academic excellence and global competitiveness.” 

The new policy is said to be enforced not only among students but also to faculty members, staff, and all university personnel. 

“Effective on this date, all official transactions, classes, and interactions within the university must be conducted exclusively in English, both in written and spoken communication.” written on the post. 

As of writing, the post had already garnered over 38,000 reactions, 2,200 comments, and more than 13,000 shares. 

Just within hours of posting the announcement of the policy on Facebook, many netizens reacted with laughing emojis with some even leaving comments under the post; making fun of the policy.
