TikTok ‘back-to-school’ videos to make your day

IT’S back to school! Along with new friends, bonding with old peers, the school year marks not just a renewed place for learning, but also allows students to grow, build connections, make fond memories and create new and funny contents for Tiktok!

School-related contents have been circulating in various social media platforms, including TikTok, that jog the memories of every Filipino student and teacher.

Excited for school? Or simply want to reminisce? Let’s open the doors!

Some TikTok celebrities spread positivity to their viewers by creating videos of relatable and funny scenarios inside the campus, which make netizens feel nostalgic.

Let’s all take a trip down the memory lane with these TikTok contents about Pinoys’ school life:

Classroom memories

School memories usually begin inside the classroom. It becomes the witness to many hilarious experiences every student shares with their classmates.

One of the remarkable activities during the first day of classes is the introduce yourself part,  where one gets to know more about their classmates.

Students now have unique ways of introducing themselves to the class. Instead of simply stating their names, age, and interests, students show who they are by exhibiting their talents in singing, spoken poetry, and even using their wits on a talk show or pageant-style introduction.

Daniel, also known as Mentor on TikTok, has a funny take on this activity. He shared a TikTok video where he portrayed some social media influencers by using their famous catchphrases. Among the personalities he imitated were Viy Cortez’s “Hi, mga Viviys!”, Zeinab Harake’s “Arat na!” and Princess Mendoza’s “ I-flex ko!”

He also mimicked food content creator Abi Marquez, who is known for her “lumpia wrapper” videos.

“POV, introduce yourself F2F class pero adik ka sa TikTok,” he wrote in the caption.

Content creator Esnyr Ranollo has also been making rounds on the platform by creating point-of-view videos of various scenarios in school.

One of his viral TikTok contents is the POV video of students during their exam week.

He portrayed several kinds of students who are preparing for the examination. These include the chill student, the cramming one, the copycat, the pressured learner, and the humble student.

TikTok star Sassa Gurl also made an after class skit, featuring the routines of Filipino students once their class is dismissed.

The video showed the content creator portraying students who retouche their makeup before leaving the school, those who have to stay to clean the room, those who need to practice for a school presentation, and those who hang out with their friends.

Extra fun in extracurricular activities

Of course, the fun does not only happen inside the four corners of the classroom.

Students are given the opportunity to showcase their skills more in extracurricular activities such as dance performances and speech choir competitions.

In a video dedicated for school programs, Esnyr highlighted different reactions of students when a group of male students perform on stage. 90s’ kids will probably be reminded of the iconic performance attire consisting of a bandana, a pair of sunglasses, a chaleco, and a patterned long sleeve shirt.

The content creator danced to Filipino rapper Matthaios’ hit song Catriona and Pop star Sarah Geronimo’s Tala.

The students’ varying reactions to the boy group include those who are screaming in kilig, those who film the performance on their phones, those who cringe at the performance, and other male students who feel that they are “more handsome” than the performers.

Netizens will also be reminded of the class competitions they had back in high school, including the clashes and banters they had with other class sections. These contests definitely evoked mixed feelings in them such as excitement, happiness, nervousness, and even competitiveness.

This video from Sassa Gurl about a dance competition will make you burst into laughter.

The TikTok star represented two clashing groups of students during a contest. The first group was showing off their best moves on stage, while the other group was praying for their victory despite their lack of practice.

Sassa Gurl also portrayed the role of a class adviser who is one of the judges of the competition. She gives a perfect score to her advisory class even though they only practiced the day before the competition. Sounds familiar?

Apart from the dance contests, there are also sports competitions known as Intramurals.

Esnyr made a skit about a series of events during the intramurals, from a female student who wants to have a photo with her crush, cheerleaders’ loud cheers, students who only appear at the event for the attendance, and to the highly anticipated Mr. and Mrs. Intramurals pageant. This week-long experience is such a great way to enjoy your school life.

Regardless of the result of these competitions, what matters most is that the students had this one-of-a-kind experience during their high school days.

Exciting field trips

Many students probably did not sleep the night before their field trip because of their excitement.

Do you remember that classmate of yours who is always late for call time? How about your classmate who is amazed with what they see? Let’s look back on those moments in the video created by TikTok personality Kuya Kaizer about field trips.

In the video, Kuya Kaizer featured various types of students during a field trip, from the latecomer who still leaves behind an important item like school ID, the classmate who films every single thing they find astonishing, the overly excited one, and the scaredy-cat.

The TikTok personality also brought his audiences to the usual field trip locations such as the Manila Ocean Park, the National Museum of the Philippines, and theme parks in Pasay and Laguna.

That ‘one’ teacher

Every student has their favorite and least favorite teachers during their highschool years.

Charlize Ruth, also known as ‘Charuth’ on social media, has become popular on TikTok for portraying different kinds of educators at schools. She even gave life to the character of TeaChar.

One of her viral skits is the type of teacher who often thought that students who have the same last name are related to one another.

School days won’t be complete without the students encountering a short-tempered teacher.

Netizens couldn’t help themselves but laugh at another video of Charlize where she imitated the typical reaction of a teacher whenever their class is noisy. The TikTok user was seen pausing mid-lecture when she noticed that her students were no longer paying attention to her lesson.

Netizens, meanwhile, could not help but to comment about scenarios that would likely to happen next. Many of them recalled their teachers walking out of the classroom or suddenly giving a quiz about the lesson.

Charlize also uploaded a video about several types of panelists during the nerve-wracking thesis defense. Among them are the panelist who asks for endless revisions on the research paper and the panelist who is very gentle to the students.

Classes are starting again, and this means that school works are coming. However, you have to keep in mind that you also need to take a breath, have fun, and enjoy your school life with your classmates.

We hope that these skits made you laugh or somehow put a smile on your face. Here’s to creating more good memories at school!
