TikTok alternatives to switch on

AMIDST the TikTok ban in the United States, the platform will no longer be accessible to over 170 million American users as its operation in the country will be shut down on January 19.

Following the Supreme Court consideration of the constitutionality of a law that would ban TikTok in the US, the government would push through its ban if TikTok’s China-based owner ByteDance doesn’t sell to a US-based company.

The platform’s banning was motivated by its ability to harvest vast amounts of personal information from its American users, which posed a national security threat.

TikTok is a social media platform home to creators producing content through a short video. It was launched by the Chinese technology company ByteDance in 2016 and is loved by many young people as it became an outlet for them to express themselves through singing, dancing, lip-syncing, and many more.

Due to this ban, TikTok users in the US will have to find an alternative platform to stream and publish their short-form video content here are some lists of platforms that will serve as the alternative form TikTok.
