FILIPINA Drag Queen Taylor Sheesh was left traumatized after getting assaulted by a concert attendee during the Kalutan concert in Bayambang Pangasinan last Saturday, April 6.
On circulating clips shared by netizens, a member of the audience is seen sticking out his hand—later hitting the artist on the neck during their performance.
Taylor Sheesh whose real name is John Mac Lane Coronel later commented on a post regarding the incident, replying on how traumatizing it has been for them.
“This is traumatic, literally. I’m shaking rn.” Taylor Sheesh wrote.
Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao later wrote on her Facebook page how she would not tolerate homophobia and physical abuse in her hometown.
“BYB (Bayambang) is a peaceful and safe town, and I cannot condone this stupidious act! I am so mad and so angry! Shame on you!” She wrote.
In the same post, she also apologized to the Drag Queen for the incident.

The Mayor also added that the perpetrator is already under custody with the authorities dealing with the incident accordingly.
Under the politician’s post, many netizens had expressed their thoughts on the incident.
One Facebook user pointed out how Taylor Sheesh was welcomed and respected by thousands of Australians during their trip to Melbourne. The user also hopes that the artist is okay.
Another Facebook user spoke out on how the act of the perpetrator doesn’t represent the People of the town.
Meanwhile, a user wrote about how discrimination against gender identity should stop.
“Repest if you want to be respected.” The user wrote.
In a separate Facebook video post, the mayor expressed her apology once again, pointing out how the town of Bayambang is a very inclusive and progressive town that supports the LGBTQIA+ community.
She also added that she was very upset about the incident and would make sure that justice would be served.
