STARS of the hit South Korean series “Squid Game” engaged themselves in another set of games, this time, featuring tumbang preso!
As part of the promotions for the series’ second season, Netflix Philippines dropped a video of the actors playing various games from all over the world, including the Philippines’ classic street game.
The 10-minute and 35-second clip showed Lee Jung-jae, who portrays Seong Gi-hun or Player 456, and Jo Yu-ri, who portrays Kim Jun-hee or Player 222, trying tumbang preso.
To win the game, the actors had to knock an empty can out of the circle by throwing a slipper. Jung-jae said the rules were “pretty simple” but failed to hit the can on his first try. He then admitted that tumbang preso was “hard” as he failed anew on his second try.
“Given the slipper’s light weight, there’s something scientific about its curve that makes it air resistant. That’s why it’s so hard,” Jung-jae said. The slipper then bounced on the floor when he threw it to the can.
Yu-ri initially struggled to play the Filipino game, but she managed to hit the can in the end.
“This is harder than it looks,” the actress said.
“Squid Games” actors Wi Ha-jun, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, and Yim Si-wan also played other games like kubb from Sweden, mak kep from Thailand, menko from Japan, peteca from Brazil, choi chuye from Vietnam, gasing from Indonesia, and jacks from the United States, among others.
The latest season also featured Lee Byung-hun and Gong Yoo reprising their roles as the Front Man and the Recruiter, respectively.
“Squid Game 2” has been available on Netflix since December 26.
’Squid Game 3’ teaser poster, video
It has only been a week since “Squid Game 2” was released, but Netflix brought the viewers’ excitement to the next level by unveiling the teaser poster and video for the show’s third season.
On Wednesday, Netflix shared the “Squid Game 3” poster, featuring two robotic dolls named Young-hee and Chul-su. Young-hee is the killer robot doll from the “Red Light, Green Light” game in the first and second seasons.
