AS an avid TikTok user, one has probably lost count of the number of dance challenges, fit check clips, and other fan-edited videos they have seen on the platform.
But they couldn’t get enough of these, especially when the background music is so good that it makes them sway their bodies or sing it.
One example is “Boyfriend,” which goes: “Kahit ‘di kita mahingi diyan sa boyfriend mo / Konting oras tumatawag ka sa number ko / ‘Lam kong ‘di ka mapakali, ‘di ka mapakali / Na ‘di ako katabi mo diyan ngayong gabi.”
And the rock song “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat)” with the lyrics: “Bakit uhaw sa ‘yong sayaw? Bakit ikaw? / ‘Di bibitaw, sa ‘yong sa ‘yo / Laging ikaw.”
“Boyfriend” and “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat)” are among the viral tracks today, and the artists who created them—ALLMO$T and Dilaw, respectively—are poised to be the next local and global stars in the music scene.
Music streaming platform Spotify announced the return of RADAR Philippines on Friday, featuring a new roster of up-and-coming Filipino artists from different music genres.
Entering the list of this year’s RADAR artists are rock band Dilaw and hip-hop group ALLMO$T.
They are joined by indie artists ONE CLICK STRAIGHT and JERGE, R&B sound maker Justin Vasquez, rap acts Young Blood Neet, Zae, and Costa Cashman, pop artist ena mori, and P-pop boy group BGYO.
ONE CLICK STRAIGHT is known for its song “Paraiso,” JERGE for “wagnamuna,” Vasquez for “What U Need,” Young Blood Neet for “ILY,” Zae for “Serve,” Costa Cashman for “TALKSHIT,” ena mori for “nantene,” and BGYO for “Trash.”
All these songs are now available in the RADAR Philippines playlist.
RADAR Philippines also featured 10 promising Filipino artists last year, allowing republicasia to feature Original Pinoy Music (OPM) hitmakers Maki, Dionela, and Cup of Joe.
RADAR is a global platform that Spotify launched in 2020 to connect rising artists to a wider audience and support their flourishing music careers.
In a press statement, several 2025 RADAR artists emphasized how RADAR Philippines makes an impact on their music careers.
“In such a saturated space, it’s harder for artists to stand out and have their moment in the spotlight. Getting to work with Spotify RADAR is a big opportunity for me to speak a little bit about my music to a wider audience; it is such a perfect platform for that,” said ena mori.
ONE CLICK STRAIGHT, meanwhile, highlighted the importance of the program in its efforts to reach more listeners.
“Knowing that Spotify is there to amplify that and make sure our voices are heard means so much. It’s not just extra exposure; it’s also validation — a pat on the back from Spotify for our art and all our hard work and dedication,” the indie band stressed.
The RADAR Philippines playlist has earned significant streams from other countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Australia, and Singapore.
One notable achievement for the OPM industry is when Filipino acts Hev Abi, Maki, Dionela, BINI, and Cup of Joe entered the top 10 RADAR artists worldwide ranked by streams.
“From Spotify’s playlist ecosystem to its bespoke program initiatives, we’ve seen incredible success over the years,” said Kossy Ng, Spotify’s Head of Music for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
“This year, we’re thrilled to amplify these artists, fuel their journey and bring fans along for the ride like never before,” Ng added.
