SB19’s ‘PAGTATAG!’ docu named highest grossing Filipino documentary

P-POP powerhouse SB19 marked another milestone as their “PAGTATAG! The Documentary” became the highest-grossing Filipino documentary.

The phenomenal quintet—Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken, and Justin—shared this achievement on social media, thanking their fans for their “unwavering support” and “making this milestone possible.” The documentary film’s gross sales have not been announced, as of writing.

“This achievement is for all of us! Let’s continue to reach greater heights together,” said SB19.

The “PAGTATAG! The Documentary” follows the quintet’s experience during their “PAGTATAG!” world tour, which kicked off in June 2023 and ended in May 2024.

It also tackles the challenges the members faced along the way, including the cancellation of their concert tour in several countries and the change in their social media bios to remove the name “SB19.”

On Instagram, Jed Regala, the documentary film’s director, also expressed his gratitude for the support they have received. He shared some photos and clips during the “PAGTATAG!” filming.

“This is a testament to the movement [SB19] started! This is P-pop! This is passion, perseverance and hard work!” Regala said.

“I am grateful to be blessed with the opportunity to show this journey through my lens,” he added.

Regala also thanked SB19, their label 1Z Entertainment, and his film studio First Light Studios for their efforts and trust to make the documentary film possible.

SB19’s fans, collectively known as A’TIN, congratulated their P-pop idols and said they were proud of the group’s achievement.

One fan went emotional on X (formerly Twitter), as they expressed how grateful they were for discovering SB19 during their trying times.

“I am so proud I’ve known you at the time that I needed you the most. It might sound OA but you saved me at my lowest,” an A’TIN said. “I am forever grateful. I am forever proud. I am forever A’TIN.”

One netizen also said, “Your story will forever live on, my kings. Mahal na mahal po namin kayo.”

The “PAGTATAG! The Documentary” had limited screenings in 184 cinemas in the country, from August 28 to September 1.

It will be available in Hong Kong on September 18 and 22.

‘Kalakal’ MV poster

Meanwhile, SB19 dropped a poster for the long-awaited music video of “Kalakal,” their collaboration song with Original Pinoy Music (OPM) icon Gloc-9.

The poster featured Gloc-9 holding a megaphone and sitting on a chair in the middle, with SB19 posing around him.

Their background was filled with graffiti and street signs that read “GLOC 9 ST.” and “SB19 ST.”

“Kalakal,” released in August, touches on Filipino consumerism and the artists’ journey of empowerment and longevity.

The music video will be released on September 11.

SB19 recently graced Billboard Korea’s “Billboard K POWER 100,” along with the nation’s girl group BINI, to receive the Voices of Asia Award.
