DIRECTOR Mark Reyes announced that he will no longer be in the upcoming fantasy drama series ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.’
In a statement published on the website of GMA Entertainment, Reyes stated that his decision to step down stems after he chose to shift his attention towards his other projects scheduled for next year.
“At this time, I will be focusing on my other work commitments set for 2025 which will need my utmost attention,” Reyes explained.
“Like all situations of this kind, it’s a complicated matter and I believe that it is best for everyone involved to honor the Encantadia legacy by moving forward with the production,” he added.
With Mark Reyes stepping down, his fellow filmmakers Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams. Gutierrez is known for directing Agimat ng Agila and Enzo Williams managed Ang Probinsyano and Maging Sino Ka Man.
As Reyes bids his farewell, he also expressed his support for the cast and crew. “I wish the cast, the staff, Direk Enzo and Direk Rico the best of luck with the remaining work for Sanggre. Avisala Eshma!” he said.
Sang’gre is a spin-off of the 2016 fantasy drama series Encantadia Chronicles. Bianca Umali, Faith da Silva, Angel Guardian, and Kelvin Miranda will play the new generation of Sang’gres, who are legendary creatures descended from royalty who possess the ability to manipulate the four elements of fire, air, water, and earth.
A release date has not yet been set for the anticipated spin-off.
