Republic of Influence: Lottie Bie, AI, and the Future of Authentic Content Creation

THE spark is far from fading as RepublicAsia and GMA Sparkle continued to ignite curiosities in the Republic of Influence workshop, focusing this time on the use of Artificial Intelligence in content creation, as well as a testimonial talk

Leading the discourse on AI in content creation is none other than Miss Fleire Castro, the CEO and founder of ContentDash PTE LTD.— an AI-driven content subscription platform designed to help enterprise marketing teams scale their content creation efforts.

Miss Castro introduced the participants to the wonders of AI, making content creation an easier work to handle.

“I created this in just one hour using AI,” Miss Castro told the participants, presenting a complete example of the code. “I can create websites now, I can create apps.”

But although the trend of AI usage starts to emerge in the field, Miss Castro warned the participants that AI— in the end— should still be an assistive tool and nothing more.

“I would suggest content creators use AI as an assistive tool. Meaning to say, when they do content creation, they start and they end the whole process of content creation, find the steps where AI can be used to make it faster, or make it better,” she said.

“But in order to maintain authenticity, you still have to add your human touch,” she added.

In the past workshop, authenticity is the very thing that is constantly emphasized by speakers. They said that it’s what adds human touch to the content, making them compelling and relatable.

Miss Castro said that this should be the very thing that content creators must be careful not to lose when producing content.

To do that, Miss Castro gave the following advice.

“Add your own brand of humor, add your own closing or languages or words that you use because that’s how you maintain the authenticity of your own brand as a content creator,” she advised.

She said that it is not wrong to use AI but we must be mindful in the way we utilize it.

“We [should] only use it for the purpose of having fun with it. Don’t use it to create your own videos, don’t use it to create your own comics. Don’t use it as a final product. You can have fun with it, play with it. But don’t disrespect the artist by using their own style.”

Meanwhile, content creator and director Lottie Bie revisit republicasia to share her journey to the young GMA Sparkle artists.

“Sharing my experiences with the younger creators, nakakatuwa kasi para akong nagto-throwback to when I was young,” said Lottie Bie.

“I’m already in my 30s and I wish I had something like this when I was growing up, wanting to create content and I’m so privileged to get to share this  experience with the younger audience and the younger content creators out there,” she said.

Lottie Bie shared her stories making it as a content creator in the digital world. She discussed the challenges along the way, and how she eventually overcame them.

For Lottie Bie, one of the most important things to preserve as a content creator is your privacy.

“You can do anything you want or share pa rin but there are aspects of it that you don’t have to share if you don’t want to,” she said.

Like Miss Castro, Lottie Bie also highlighted the significance of staying true to yourself. She said that it’s okay to be “cringe”— it’s already a given that some people will like you and some won’t anyway.

Many of the participants resonated with this.

“Kay Miss Lottie po, super dami po naming natutunan sa kanya, kasama na rin po do’n ‘yung pagiging consistent po when posting and just be yourself po. I-o-overcome niyo po ‘yung cringeness no’n,” said Kairo Lazarte, a member of the P-Pop group Cloud 7.

“Mas na-open po ‘yung knowledge namin about AI kasi ngayon po syempre ‘yung AI mas lumalawak na. Ngayon po, saktong-sakto po na meron po kami ngayon na nadagdag na knowledge about AI so ngayon po, mas alam na po namin paano sya gamitin nang tama,” shared Miguel Diokno, another member.

The Republic of Influence workshop served not only as a common seminar, but as a pass to digital revolution. It showed how we can merge innovation without sacrificing our core principle of authenticity as content creators.
