PINARANGALAN ang ilang bigating artista sa ika-pitong edisyon ng Entertainment Editors’ Choice (EDDYS) Awards nitong Linggo, July 7, kabilang sina Piolo Pascual, Julia Montes, at Charlie Dizon na nasungkit ang top acting awards.
Ginanap ang awards night sa Marriott Grand Ballroom ng Newport World Resorts sa Pasay City.
Iginawad kay Pascual ang Best Actor award para sa kanyang natatanging pagganap sa 2023 horror film “Mallari.”
Pareho namang napanalunan nina Montes at Dizon ang Best Actress award. Nasungkit ni Montes ang parangal para sa kanyang pagganap sa pelikulang “Five Breakups and a Romance,” habang si Dizon naman para sa pelikula niyang “Third World Romance” nitong 2023.
Sa kanyang acceptance speech, ibinahagi ni Pascual ang kanyang panalo sa iba pang Best Actor nominees na sina Dingdong Dantes, Cedrick Juan, Alden Richards, Romnick Sarmenta, at Elijah Canlas.
“I wasn’t really expecting to win so, just forgive me for shaking,” pahayag ni Pascual.
Dagdag niya, “I hold this close to my heart because it comes from friends from the industry. Thank you so much as we celebrate Philippine Cinema, I am reminded of the task that we have at hand, which is to not just celebrate but carry on and make sure we are leaving a good trail for people to appreciate and hopefully be inspired by what we do.”
Nagpasalamat din si Montes para sa parangal na kanyang natanggap.
“Wala po kong masabi kundi maraming, maraming salamat. Kung alam niyo lang po, ako, bilang nagta-trabaho sa ating industriya, nominado pa lang po eh napaka sarap na po sa pakiramdam. Pero ito pong ibinigay niyong parangal ngayon, sobra-sobrang nakaka-inspire pa po na lalo pa pong pagbutihan,” wika ni Montes.
Inorganisa ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), ang EDDYS ay isang taunang film event sa bansang kumikilala sa mga artisans, actors, writers, directors, workers, at producers sa Philippine film industry.
Samantala, nanalo naman si Enchong Dee ng Best Supporting Actor award para sa “GomBurZa” at si Gladys Reyes ng Best Supporting Actress award para sa “Apag.”
