TO all Filipino student filmmakers, here is your chance to showcase your creativity to a wider audience and win a trip to Busan, South Korea.
The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in the Philippines has opened applications for its first-ever student short film competition, which aims to feature the talents and creativity of young Filipino filmmakers as they tackle “the history, cultural exchange, and symbolic meanings” surrounding the Korean culture in the Philippines.
“Whether it’s a story about unbreakable bonds, unforgettable adventures, or new beginnings, we want to see it through your lens!” the KCC said.
This competition is part of the KCC’s Film Festival Celebration, highlighting the relationship between the Philippines and South Korea.
The grand winner of the competition will bag an “all-expense” paid trip to South Korea to attend the 2025 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on September 3.
The KCC accepts applications from Filipino students currently enrolled in any undergraduate program (up to Bachelor’s level) in the Philippines.
Interested applicants may also apply by group, as long as all members are enrolled students. There are no minimum and maximum group members required.
Their film entries—with a running time of 13 to 15 minutes, including credits—should not be part of any major film festivals.
Other than their films, applicants are required to submit the following:
The deadline for submission is set for June 30, 2025.
