FILIPINA beauty queen Jasmin Bungay is ready to make the Filipino nation proud as she represents the country in the Miss Globe 2024 pageant.
On Tuesday, Binibining Pilipinas shared several photos of the 26-year-old beauty queen at the airport, wearing an all-red modern Filipiniana outfit, while holding a Philippine flag.
Bungay left the country for Albania for the upcoming beauty pageant.
“She’s off and ready to conquer the globe!” said Binibining Pilipinas.
Before her departure, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) held a send-off party for Bungay at Gateway Mall 2 in Quezon City.
The event was attended by her family, supporters, and fellow beauty queens like Binibining Pilipinas International Myrna Esguerra and Binibining Pilipinas first runner-up Christal Dela Cruz.
Bungay aims to take home the country’s third Miss Globe crown, after Ann Lorraine Colis in 2015 and Maureen Montagne in 2021.
The Miss Globe 2024 coronation night will be held on October 15, where Malaysia’s Manvin Khera will crown her successor.
Bungay was an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in the Middle East and a teacher with a degree in mathematics.
She joined the Binibining Pilipinas 2024 competition, where she advocated for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.
During the pageant, the Kapampangan beauty queen said she would bring up the passage of the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity or Expression, or Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) bill if given a chance to talk to the public for 30 minutes.
She stressed, “As an individual, it is our responsibility that we ensure that everyone is treated equally despite their SOGIE.”
Bungay was then crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024, succeeding Anna Lakrini who was named second runner-up in the Miss Globe 2023 pageant.
