PH bet Alexie Brooks pays homage to Egypt’s Queen Nefertiti ahead of Miss Eco International 2025

LIKE Queen Nefertiti, Filipina beauty queen Alexie Brooks aims to make history in Egypt as she competes for the upcoming Miss Eco International 2025 pageant.

On her way to Egypt for the global tilt, the Ilongga beauty queen shared a carousel of photos in which she posed as Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, the great royal wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten, who became the tenth ruler of the 18th Dynasty.

“ICON. LEGEND. QUEEN. Capturing the essence of Nefertiti, worshipped for her grace and beauty, but equally famed for breaking down barriers,” Brooks wrote on her Instagram post on Tuesday, describing Queen Nefertiti, whose name translates as “A Beautiful Woman Has Come.”

“Here’s hoping that just like Nefertiti, I can make history in Egypt!” she added.

The Philippine bet donned a two-piece golden custom suit consisting of an intricately beaded top and a flowy full skirt adorned with long strings of beads on its waistline. She also has a flowy golden cape attached to her collar.

Brook’s Queen Nefertiti-inspired look would not be complete without the notable large flat-topped headdress similar to the Egyptian queen’s cap crown.

The ensemble was made by Iloilo-based designer Fritz Caancan, who also crafted Brook’s modern tailored Filipiniana suit for her airport departure look.

According to The Miss Philippines’ Instagram post on Wednesday, Brooks is already in Alexandria, Egypt, where the Miss Eco International 2025 competition will take place on April 19 (April 20 in Manila).

Leading eco tourism video race

The 24-year-old Filipina beauty queen maintains her number one ranking in the eco tourism video race of the Miss Eco International 2025 pageant, garnering 71,468 views.

In her video for the environment-themed pageant, Brooks highlighted the importance of empowering the new generation to “protect the planet, embrace agriculture, and champion eco tourism.”

Following the Philippines in the race is the United Kingdom with 59,786 views and Ukraine with 29,419 views.

‘Miss Eco People’s Choice’ now open

Meanwhile, organizers of the Miss Eco International 2025 competition opened the voting portal for the “Miss Eco People’s Choice.”

The candidate with the most voting points will be named “Miss Eco People’s Choice” and become one of the Top 10 finalists.

Filipino pageant fans may support Brooks by voting for her through the Miss Eco International’s voting platform. Voting will close on April 19 at 6 p.m. (April 20 at 2 a.m. in the Philippines).

Brooks aims to follow the footsteps of beauty queens Cynthia Thomalla and Kathleen Paton, who won the Philippines’ Miss Eco International titles in 2018 and 2022, respectively.
