FOR the past 20 years, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been investigating the possible link between cancer with phone usage.
However, after commissioning a review of published evidence worldwide–they concluded that phone usage has no link to cancer.
In a study led by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA), they reviewed and examined more than 5,000 studies ranging from 1994 to 2022–marking it as “the most comprehensive review to date.”
The final analysis involves 63 studies examined by 11 investigators from 10 countries including the Australian government’s radiation protection authority.
According to the lead author Ken Karidipis, the findings of the systematic review aligned with the previous research that’s been managed by ARPANSA shows that “although the use of wireless technology has massively increased in the last 20 years, there has been no rise in the incidence of brain cancers.”
Mobile phones and other devices that use wireless technology emit “Radio-frequency electromagnetic fields” (RF-EMF). RF-EMF also known as “radio waves,” are emitted from an antenna to a receiver and used to transfer information quickly over great distances.
Brain along with head cancers have been one of the primary concerns among health authorities since all phones used by people for a long period. The idea of this is way more concerning because it is close to the head.
Studies have later shown that radiation emitted by X-rays and CT scanners has been found to cause brain cancers.
However, radio waves emitted by cell phones are nonionizing–meaning that their energy is too low to damage the DNA–concluding that it couldn’t cause any changed to genes that may later turn into cancer.
