Niño Muhlach sells FAMAS trophy to Boss Toyo

Former child actor Niño Muhlach sold his FAMAS trophy to content creator Boss Toyo.

On May 13, Muhlach, known as the “Child Wonder of the Philippines,” was featured in “Pinoy Pawnster” for selling one of his trophies from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) to Boss Toyo.

The former child star personally visited the content creator’s shop in Quezon City to hand over the trophy for PHP 500,000.

According to Muhlach, he promised to give Boss Toyo one of his FAMAS awards if he promised to put it to his museum and if he would restore it.

“Ako kasi ang dami kong FAMAS.  Ang problema hindi ko naalalagaan. Ngayon kung ilalagay mo sa museum mo at promise mo na ipapa-restore mo, I will give you one,” he told Boss Toyo.

Boss Toyo first haggled to buy it for the price of P100,000 but later agreed to purchase it for P500,000.

Boss Toyo disclosed that he was the one that reached out to Muhlach to have one of his trophy awards. Muhlach eventually decided to instead sell it to the content creator for the museum that he plans to launch this year.

“I decided to give it to him, pero big deal, kailangan alagaan niya and i-restore nya and ilagay nya sa museum nya, dahil hindi ko na naalagaan. Yun ang deal naming,” Muhlach said.

According to Boss Toyo, Muhlach’s FAMAS awards are one of his dream items. He highlighted how Muhlach changed Filipino entertainment through his movies just like what Dolphy and Fernando Poe Jr. did.

“Ikaw ang barometer, pag sinabing ‘child actor’, tandaan natin, wala pa akong nakitang nakadaig sayo as a child actor,” Boss Toyo said.
