SIXTY-SIX candidates lit up the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City on April 28, commanding the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 preliminaries in bold swimwear and breathtaking gowns—just days before the May 2 coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The event was hosted by none other than the reigning Miss Universe Philippines and Miss Universe Asia Chelsea Manalo, along with TV anchor Erika Kristensen-Lee.
The prelims was a crucial stage of the competition, with the candidates’ performances helping to determine who would advance to the next round during the finale.
At the event, candidates showcased their elegance and confidence as they strutted the runway in swimsuits followed by evening gowns. At the conclusion of the preliminaries, select candidates were honored with special awards presented by the event’s sponsors.
So far, crowd favorites include Ahtisa Manalo from Quezon, Eliana Aduana from Siniloan, Laguna, Wynwyn Marquez from Muntinlupa, and Chelsea Fernandez from Sultan Kudarat. These are the names pageant followers are vying for to win the crown.
Big names in the pageant and entertainment industries attended the event, including Shamcey Supsup, former Miss Universe Philippines and national director, and Bianca Umali, who served as one of the judges during the preliminaries.
RepublicAsia’s own CEO, Bran Reluao, also served as one of the judges. A Gen Z tech advocate, Reluao recently took on the role of chairman for the Miss Universe Philippines Charity Gala.
The preliminaries for the National Costume competition will take place on April 30 at the luxurious Okada Manila, located in Parañaque City.
The grand coronation night will follow on May 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, where one deserving candidate will be crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025.
