More Korean artists are coming to PH for concerts, fan meet

FILIPINO Hallyu fans keep on winning as more and more South Korean artists are set to hold their concerts and a fan meet in the Philippines, with K-pop girl group ITZY, Mamamoo’s Wheein, and Korean actor Kim Seon-ho.

Ticketing details for these events have yet to be announced as of writing, but fans should start preparing themselves and their wallets as these artists are set to return to Manila in April.

Here are the dates for their forthcoming concerts and fan meet:

‘Born to Be’

Filipino MIDZYs are rejoicing on social media after fourth generation girl group ITZY announced that it is embarking on its second world tour called “Born to Be,” with the Philippines being included in the list of countries it will visit.

The Manila show will be held on August 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The tour will be held in cities across Asia, North America, and Europe. It will kick off at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, South Korea on February 24 to 25.

The “Born to Be” tour comes in support of ITZY’s newest full-length album of the same name, which was released on January 8, 2024.

ITZY is composed of Yeji, Lia, Yuna, Ryujin, and Chaeryeong. However, reports had said that Lia would sit out promotions for the “Born to Be” album and tour due to health concerns.

The girl group last visited the Philippines in 2023 for their two-day “Checkmate” concert in January, a fan meeting organized by a local clothing brand in April, and the 2023 Asia Artist Awards (AAA) in December.

‘Whee In The Mood [Beyond]’

Pinoy MOOMOOs are also in for a treat as Wheein of girl group Mamamoo will bring her first world tour “Whee In The Mood [Beyond]” to Manila.

THE L1VE, the singer’s agency, said on X (formerly Twitter) that the Manila show will be held on April 13, 2024. The venue for the solo concert has yet to be announced.

The concert tour will begin in Seoul, South Korea on February 24 to 25. She will also perform in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Taipei, and Tokyo.

This comes after Wheein dropped her latest album “IN the mood” in October 2023, where he featured her fellow member Hwasa for the song “17” and Korean rapper HAON for “Bite Me.”

Wheein debuted with Mamamoo in 2014. She released her first single album “Soar” in 2019.

She last performed in the Philippines during the “MY CON” tour in February 2023 with her fellow Mamamoo members.

‘2024 Kim Seonho Asia Tour in Manila <Color+Full>’

South Korean actor Kim Seon-ho will be meeting his fans, also known as Seonhohadas, at a brand-sponsored fan meeting.

Titled “2024 Kim Seonho Asia Tour in Manila <Color+Full>,” will take place on April 13, 2024 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The event is organized by a local ketchup brand, where Kim is the newest ambassador.

The actor–known for his roles in K-drama “Start-Up” and “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” and the action noir film “The Childe”–last visited the Philippines in December for the star-studded AAA in Bulacan.

He also brought his “One, Two, Three, Smile” tour to the country in January 2023. This marked his first Philippine fan meet.
