VALENTINES Day is just around the corner and with the day approaching, many couples are already beginning on what type of date they’ll be having for the day of hearts.
The date of February 14 is often seen as an important occasion for those celebrating with their partner. A date is planned while the sales of chocolates and flower bouquets skyrocket.
Valentines Day is indeed viewed as one of the most eventful days for others, however for someone who’s celebrating it alone; the day of Hearts can be just as tough especially when you’re single and surrounded by a bunch of lovebirds.
Because of this, many people would resort to installing dating apps to find a date or perhaps someone they can call their home and forever.
The use of dating apps has been widely famous among people who are living in the digital age, through these apps; meeting someone new has become 10 times easier as a finger swipe is all it takes to connect with a person who can potentially be your partner.
Everyone loves the idea of convenience and while it is very easy to connect with someone through the use of dating apps; the power of the app doesn’t end there as it also can connect users to someone who also happens to share similar interests.
This is thanks to the option of being able to put out your interests/ hobbies on your profile, making it easier to find someone who shares the same interests that you can bond with.
Aside from convenience and finding your other half through the means of hobbies, dating apps also give you a chance to meet the person you’re talking to before meeting them online. By being able to communicate with your match, you’ll be able to talk about the things you’re looking for on the app.
Whether you’re looking for something casual, just a date, or a long-term relationship; being able to communicate with your match is a must so that you’ll know if you happen to be in the same page with them.
Just like meeting people in real life, etiquette within dating apps should be applied. Doesn’t mean that you’re communicating through the internet means that you can be disrespectful.
Don’t be vulgar
As harsh as it sounds, oftentimes dating apps are often seen as a place where you can easily meet someone to hook up with but that doesn’t mean that you have the permission to be vulgar. Keep in mind that is it better to be respectful considering that you’re just meeting this person for the first time. Remember that first impressions always lasts.
Be truthful
No one likes being lied to so don’t do something that you don’t want to do to you. Being honest is one of the common courtesy that one should practice; if something can be said truthfully, one should do so instead of creating lies that would betray the trust of the person you’re talking to.
It is okay to share things with someone you met online but also remember to be cautious with what you share with people online. Remember that not everything can be shared.
Prioritize your safety
If there’s a number 1 unspoken rule when it comes to using dating apps, that is to put your safety above everything else. It
When you’re planning on a meet up, always meet your match in public where a lot of people are present. You can always assume that the person on the other side of the screen is good but it always better to put your safety on priority.
Matching with someone online doesn’t guarantee you an immediate partner. Dating apps can give you potential partners you can end up with but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll end up with them.
In the end of the day, communicating with your wants and needs and learning whether or not they’re on the same page will be important because on that way, you’ll be able to save yourself from a potential heartbreak that can occur.
