MISS UNIVERSE 2023 Sheynnis Palacios was moved to tears during her homecoming motorcade at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Manila. The Nicaraguan beauty queen dressed in an elegant red ball gown expressed gratitude to her Filipino fans for their overwhelming support.
Organized by the Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH), the motorcade was to show Palacios that she could consider the Philippines as her home and to provide her with the experience she had yet to have. Despite challenges preventing her return to Nicaragua, Palacios was deeply touched by the warm reception she received from the Filipinos.
Pulling out a Nicaraguan flag midway through the parade, Palacios visibly teared up as she waved to the crowd. Her emotional reaction touched the Filipinos who expressed their love and support for the reigning Miss Universe.
At the end of the parade, Palacios thanked the Filipino people for their hospitality and support. She emphasized the importance of celebrating diversity and promoting unity across borders.
“We are more than a beauty pageant, we are the perfect platform for every single woman who want to celebrate every country that we have in our world. And Miss Universe is the platform to celebrate the diversity, the beauty in diversity that exists in our society today,” Sheynnis said.
Palacios’ visit to Manila marks the latest stop on her Asian tour which has already taken her to several countries in the universe. She is set to leave on May 7 and will next visit India.
