Misiskolar program to help improve Filipino women’s digital skills

GLOBE and Grab have teamed up to introduce the Misiskolar program aimed at empowering Filipino women by boosting their digital skills. This initiative is designed to create job opportunities for the spouses of Grab driver-partners.

Globe will sponsor courses in Essential Skills and Virtual Assistance, developed with edutech firm KodeGo. Initially, 100 Grab driver-partners, delivery-partners, and their spouses will receive training to learn important digital skills.

“We believe that women are key to driving progress in their families and communities,” said Crisela Magpayo-Cervantes, vice president for marketing communications in Gl

“Through the Misiskolar program with Grab and KodeGo, we want to empower women by improving their digital knowledge. This will give them more confidence and open doors to new job opportunities,” she said.

KodeGo, known for making digital education affordable, is excited about the partnership. “Our programs are designed to make digital skills training accessible,” said Patricia Gaw, KodeGo Venture Builder. “We provide support to help students succeed in tech-related careers.”

The Misiskolar initiative shows Globe and Grab’s commitment to helping communities grow through digital skills.

“Our goal is to empower Grab’s drivers and their families with digital skills. Partnering with Globe on the Misiskolar program is part of our vision to create a better digital future for Filipinos,” said CJ Lacsican, head of operations at Grab Philippines.

Meanwhile, Yoly Crisanto, chief sustainability and corporate communications officer at Globe, emphasized the program’s impact. “Globe’s partnership with Grab shows our commitment to using technology for good,” she said. “Misiskolar aims to give more opportunities to women, promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Globe At Home will provide affordable and reliable Internet through GFiber Prepaid to support the program. This ensures that the scholars have Internet access for their studies.

The Misiskolar program offers hope and empowerment for Filipino women aiming to thrive in the digital economy.
