ON top of her preparations for Miss Universe, Michelle Marquez Dee is set to conquer another milestone as she begins training to join the Philippine Air Force.
The Miss Universe Organization made the announcement in an Instagram post on Saturday along with a series of photos showing Dee busy having a meeting with the military officers, as well as wearing a camouflage cap.
“FOR THE PHILIPPINES. Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee has officially entered training to be part of the Philippine Air Force,” it wrote.
The organization further explained, “She knows that it’s going to be very challenging, but it’s something she really wants to do for the country. As @michelledee says, “Service first.” We salute Michelle Marquez Dee’s dedication to serve!”
Aside from being Miss Universe Philippines queen, Dee is a vocal pro LGBTQ+ as she came out as bisexual after winning the crown in May. She also serves as a goodwill ambassador for Autism Society Philippines.
Michelle Dee will be representing the country in Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador slated on November 18 in hopes of bringing home the Philippines’ fifth crown.
