Michelle Dee among top delegates in Asia-Pacific in Miss Universe fan voting

PHILIPPINE bet Michelle Dee remains to be one of the frontrunners in the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, as she is among the top candidates in the fan vote.

The Miss Universe Organization released its list of Top 3 delegates per region, where the Filipino beauty queen was listed as one of the candidates who topped the fan voting in the Asia-Pacific as of October 20.

Dee is joined by Amara Bo of Myanmar and Anntonia Porsild of Thailand.

“They are presented in random order within their regions and wow – it is a close race!” the organizers said in an Instagram post.

The 28-year-old beauty queen, meanwhile, commented on the post and said, “LABAN PILIPINAS!!!”

Other candidates who are leading the fan vote are Ukraine’s Angelina Usanova, Albania’s Endi Demneri, and France’s Diane Leyre in Europe; South Africa’s Bryoni Govender, Zimbabwe’s Brooke Bruk-Jackson, and Cameroon’s Issie Princess in Africa; and Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios, Puerto Rico’s Karla Guilfú Acevedo, and Chile’s Celeste Viel in the Americas.

The candidate with the most votes will automatically qualify in the semi-finals.

How to vote

To vote for your favorite candidate, you may download the Miss Universe app on your mobile phone. Each individual may cast only one vote for free.

In the mobile app, click the “vote is now open” and you will be directed to the page that shows the photos of the candidates.

Press the yellow star on the bottom part of the photo of your candidate.

A green star will then appear on the upper right part of the image once you voted.

You may cast additional votes by availing voting packages, with prices ranging from P49 to P9,990.

John Legend performance

The beauty queens are not the only ones who will light up the stage at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant.

American singer-songwriter John Legend will grace the pageant’s coronation night as a musical guest, the MUO announced.

“The EGOT recipient, songwriter, producer and activist will perform on stage in El Salvador November 18th. What song do you hope to hear?” it said.

This is not the first time that the “All of Me” hitmaker will perform in the prestigious pageant. The 44-year-old singer serenaded the candidates in the Miss Universe 2019 pageant, along with American hip hop band The Roots.
