Rapper Megan Thee Stallion made over a million people swoon online today when she posted photos of herself in cosplay while in Japan for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024, where she was one of the presenters.
Megan cosplayed Jolene, a popular character from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” It’s only been seven hours but the post, which she captioned “It’s been fun Japan,” has garnered over 1.4 million likes and 13,000 comments thus far.
Many people showed their support for the artist and shared their love for anime. Some users even claimed that they’ve started watching “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” because of Megan’s post.
“This must have been the Jolyne Dolly Parton was worried about stealing her man,” a user joked.
“This girl really living her anime fantasy, OK Meg!” another said, supportively.
Megan’s Jolyne cosplay is only the first of many since she arrived in Japan. On her first day there, she dressed up as Gojo Satoru from “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
At the awards, she dressed up as Bucciarati, yet another character from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” She was also seen with Japanese artists ATARASHII GAKKO! and Yuki Chiba, otherwise known as KOHH.
Aside from her drop-dead gorgeous looks, it seemed that the rapper had a blast in Japan.
On her TikTok, for example, she’s posted videos of her trying different food and drinks. She caught attention when she posted a video holding a bottle of alcohol with a horrifying dead snake inside.
“Is this gonna kill me?” she asked jokingly, turning the snake away from her as if to avoid eye contact. “He’s looking at me!”
Though Megan’s trip has ended, fans aren’t worried.
She’s sure to post more iconic cosplays down the line, as she’s been doing thus far with characters like Mirko and Todoroki from “My Hero Academia,” Jabami Yumeko from “Kakegurui,” Death the Kid from “Soul Eater,” and many more.
