Maymay Entrata’s ‘AMAKABOGERA’ has English version!

REMEMBER when Maymay Entrata made waves in the music industry when she dropped “AMAKABOGERA” almost three years ago? She is back at it again as she dropped the English version of her hit song.

The 27-year-old actress-singer shared the new version of “AMAKABOGERA” on social media with an empowered message: “Your beauty is yours to define.” 

The song was accompanied by a music video, featuring Entrata wearing glam makeup.

The two-minute and 50-second clip began with a definition of “AMAKABOGERA,” which means “someone who exudes unmatched brilliance and charisma; a stunner.”

It later showed Entrata smudging her makeup as she sings a part of the song that goes: “You know that I don’t / Need to follow any trends / I’m gonna be myself / Til the very end.”

The actress-singer stood in front of a mannequin at the end of the music video, surrounded by debris of other mannequins she destroyed.

Entrata released the original version of “AMAKABOGERA” in October 2021, where she highlighted self-empowerment and defied toxic beauty standards.

Its music video, which has now over 26 million views on YouTube, featured Entrata brimming confidence as she danced to the song and embraced her natural beauty.

‘A lot of new music’

The Gen Z artist first teased about releasing the English version of her hit song on September 16, sharing a photo of her with smudged makeup.

But “AMAKABOGERA (English version)” is just the beginning of what Entrata has in store for her fans.

Entrata said she is “preparing a lot of new music” and “excited for what’s to come.”

In the meantime, she wanted her fans to give themselves some love and confidence, and embrace their “beauty and flaws” through “AMAKABOGERA.”

In another post, Entrata shared a photo collage of what makes her “feel confident.” It included images of fearless female characters like Wonder Woman, Mulan, and San.
