LIST: Thrilling activities to enjoy with friends, family for Halloween 2024

IT IS finally the spooky season and Filipinos began filling establishments with scary decorations and planning their outfits for this year’s Halloween celebration.

This season, however, would not be complete without them participating in different activities that would give them chills to the bone or have them on the edge of their seats.

Various events await Filipinos that will surely take their 2024 Halloween celebration to the next level—from wearing their best costumes, binge-watching horror films, rocking in an Original Pilipino Music (OPM) event, and solving puzzles.

Here’s the list of thrilling activities in Metro Manila you may check out with your friends and family:

‘Intramuros Investigation’

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a paranormal detective? What if we tell you that you may fulfill that dream for a night as you explore the “dark side” of Intramuros, also known as the historic Walled City of Manila?

For this year’s Halloween, Mystery Manila, Bambike, and the Intramuros Administration joined forces to launch the “Intramuros Investigation,” a bamboo bicycle ride where participants will play as paranormal detectives to look for clues and solve fictitious mysterious events in the historical landmark.

The game features two eerie mysteries: the “Lost Lady” and the “Possessed Priest.” The starting point of the bicycle ride is at Plaza San Luis Complex, beside the headquarters of Bambike in Intramuros.

“Intramuros Investigation” costs P899 per head, but students can get a 50 percent discount when they present their school IDs.

The event dates have been extended to October 28 and 30.

‘Curse of Clowns’

Mystery Manila also collaborated with The Dessert Museum for the “Curse of Clowns,” an escape room game where scary clowns lurk.

The goal is to escape the room designed as an abandoned carnival cursed by the clowns by completing a series of challenges.

Each team, composed of two to 10 individuals, has five minutes to solve the puzzle in each room. They need to move to the next room once they hear the buzzer or they will be captured by the clowns.

The Top 3 fastest teams will receive prizes from Mystery Manila, in addition to special Sucere goodies that all participants will receive at the end of the game.

Tickets for the “Curse of Clowns” cost P899 per head. The escape room game is available until November 10, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Dessert Museum is located at Level 1, Coral Way, S Maison, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

‘Halloween: Trick or Treat; Answer or be Beat’ quiz night

If you are not done sharpening your thinking skills, you might want to join a trivia night organized by Bombvinos Bodega.

The “Halloween: Trick or Treat; Answer or be Beat” quiz night will challenge participants’ knowledge of the history of Halloween, cinema and literature, pop culture, and true crime, among others.

The game requires teams of four to six only, with tickets priced at P500 per head (consumable). Quizzers are encouraged to come in their best Halloween costumes for a chance to win special prizes.

The quiz night will be held on October 29 at 8 p.m. at Bombvinos Bodega in Makati City.

‘Halloween Rooftop Movie Night’

Looking for a relaxing yet spine-chilling activity? Aujen’s Coffee in Intramuros has got your back!

The coffee shop is offering its “Halloween Rooftop Movie Night” to coffee and horror lovers, where they can enjoy watching classic horror films while sipping a cup of coffee.

Interested individuals should purchase one meal and coffee to receive their entry ticket for the movie night. The event will run from October 23 to 31, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Aujen’s Coffee is located at Cabildo Street, corner Beaterio Street, in Intramuros.

‘Petsa de Peligro’ Halloween night

Of course, it would be a good idea to celebrate the spooky season and end the month with a bang!

Organized by Soupstar Music, the “Petsa de Peligro” Halloween night will feature performances from several OPM bands, including Sandwich, 6cyclemind, Gracenote, Imago, The Vowels They Orbit, Teeth, Kiss N Tell, Hey June!, Banda Ni Kleggy, Better Days, and Ultracombo. Lucban-based acoustic singer-songwriter Jem will also perform at the event.

The entrance fee costs P1,000. Interested attendees are encouraged to wear their best Halloween costumes and win a cash prize of up to P5,000.

The “Petsa de Peligro” Halloween night will be held on October 30 at 19 East Bar in Sucat, Muntinlupa City.
