Further details about the event, including the date of his return to the Philippines, have yet to be announced.
Lee visited Manila in October 2023 to grace the 65th anniversary celebration of a real estate developer that he endorses. At the time, he held a press conference where he shared about his preparations for his comeback to the big screen.
The K-drama actor stars in the ongoing romantic comedy-drama, “When the Stars Gossip,” alongside South Korean actress Kong Hyo-jin.
This is Netflix’s first Korean earth-to-space romance drama about how two different individuals with separate missions—an OB-GYN-turned-space-tourist (played by Lee) and an astronaut (played by Kong)—find and fall for each other at a space station.
“When the Stars Gossip” is written by Park Shin-woo, who also helmed the 2020 rom-com series “It’s Okay to Not BeOkay.”
Other hit K-dramas
Lee is one of the most popular South Korean actors in today’s generation, who has grown fan bases in other countries like the Philippines.
The 37-year-old actor gained widespread popularity when he starred in the hit 2009 K-drama “Boys Over Flowers,” playing the role of Gu Jun-pyo, the heir to one of the biggest companies in South Korea. He was joined by other OG (original) oppas and “F4” members Kim Bum, Kim Hyun-joong, and Kim Joon.
He portrayed the character of another chaebol heir named Kim Tan in the 2013 romance drama “The Heirs.” He starred alongside Park Shin-hye and Kim Woo-bin, among others.
In 2016, he joined the cast of another popular K-drama, “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” portraying Kim Dam-ryeong, the son of a magistrate in the Joseon era, and his future self, Heo Joon-jae, who is a con-artist.
He won the viewers’ hearts anew with his character as Emperor Lee Gon, who rules the Kingdom of Corea, in the 2020 romantic fantasy series “The King: Eternal Monarch.” Lee was joined by Kim Go-eun and Woo Do-hwan in the drama.
