FOLLOWING the success of League of Legends’ Arcane in 2021, Riot Games’ Valorant is now reportedly getting a film adaptation and is expected to hit the big screens sometime in 2025.
This report came from the leaks posted by data miners who go by the X (formerly Twitter) handle of Kingdom Laboratories (@KLaboratories).
The group suggests that the film adaptation of the game developer’s popular first-person shooter (FPS) offering is currently in the works under Tencent and Riot.
Kingdom Laboratories also reported that the trailer for the Valorant film will be released on October 13, 2024. It also added a link to the YouTube live stream scheduled on the same day.
Trusted Valorant update account Valorant Updates (@ValorantUpdated) on X also confirmed the news, adding that the FPS film is currently being developed in China.
Moreover, the animation will be similar to its Riot Games predecessor animated series Arcane released on Netflix.
Riot has yet to confirm the leaks.
The American video game producer has been known for spoiling Valorant admirers with impressive graphics, whether for the gameplay or trailers used to introduce new agents and their skills.
Because of this, fans and players of the lore can’t help but feel excited about the possibility of a Valorant film.
Others, on the other hand, wish that a series, just like Arcane, would be released instead of just a full-length film.
Released in June 2020, Valorant is a free-to-play tactical shooter game.
Two teams with five players each battle against each other using precise gun skills accompanied by their mastery of agents’ abilities.
Valorant is set in the future where a global event called “First Light” led to an immense transformation in life, technology, and how governments operate.
This also allowed selected individuals to acquire special abilities stemming from the event, which range from healing to teleportation.
These agents were gathered to establish the Valorant Protocol, an operation set up to keep the world safe from dangerous situations.
