THE “Touch” fever has taken over Filipino fans as multinational girl group KATSEYE made their first trip to the Philippines following their successful debut in the music industry.
The six-member global group—composed of Sophia Laforteza from the Philippines; Daniela, Lara, and Megan from the United States; Manon from Switzerland; and Yoonchae from South Korea—was in the country for their “Touchdown in Manila” fan showcase at Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig City.
The rookie girl group was surprised by the sheer number of Filipino fans, collectively known as EYEKONS, who showed up to the venue rain or shine to show their support and warm welcome.
The event became a memorable moment not only for the fans but also for KATSEYE.
On social media, KATSEYE shared some snaps from the fan showcase, thanking Filo EYEKONS for sharing with them such “an unforgettable experience.”
“Manila, thank you for showing us so much love! Our hearts are so full!” the girl group said.
“Thank you for making our first time in the Philippines an unforgettable experience. Mahal namin kayo!” they added.
During their Manila fan showcase, KATSEYE performed their songs “My Way,” “Debut,” and “Touch,” which were all part of their debut album “SIS (Soft is Strong).”
The members also sang different versions of “Touch,” with Yoonchae singing the hit song in Korean, Megan in Japanese, and Sofia in Tagalog.
Of course, the event would not be complete without taking group photos with their fans. The girls also received sunflowers onstage from Filo EYEKONS.
Aside from their fan showcase, KATSEYE had other commitments as part of their promotional activities in the country, including a television show appearance.
On Wednesday, the girl group visited the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” where they performed their viral song “Touch.”
They also performed this during their first Wish Bus appearance.
KATSEYE did not miss the chance to collaborate with “Kings of P-pop” SB19 and social media personality Niana Guerrero for the “Touch” dance challenge.
KATSEYE was formed through “The Debut: Dream Academy,” a reality show organized by Korean entertainment agency HYBE and American recordGeffen Records.
The girls debuted in June 2024, with their first single “Debut.”
