KathNiel performs together onstage during ABS-CBN Christmas Special

MORE than a week after they confirmed their breakup, ex-couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla surprised their fans with a song performance together on stage during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special.

In the clips shared by fans online, Bernardo and Padilla, also known as KathNiel, performed The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You.” It was the theme song of the popular American television sitcom “Friends.”

The ABS-CBN Christmas Special was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday, December 13.

In other videos, Padilla was seen escorting Bernardo to the backstage where they were also seen talking with one another.

Meanwhile, Padilla shared a reel on his Instagram story, showing their fans chanting “KathNiel” when they were asked whose fandom they belong to.

They were also seen holding a sunflower-inspired banner with the word “KathNiel” on it.

Aside from their singing performance, Bernardo also had a solo stage where she showcased a sizzling dance performance of the song “Water” by Tyla.

It was on November 30 when the former couple confirmed that they had parted ways in their heartfelt Instagram posts, after 11 years of dating. The two stars thanked each other for their over-a-decade journey as a couple.

“Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful,” the 27-year-old actress told Padilla.

The 28-year-old actor, on the other hand, addressed Bernardo and said, “Our lives may drift away, but our love will still ride that tide.”

It cannot be denied that the breakup had indeed affected a lot of individuals, specifically their fans who had been rooting for them to be the endgame.

Bernardo has been active on social media after posting photos of her new orange-colored hairstyle, a few days after the breakup confirmation.

Christmas Special

According to ABS-CBN News, there were 300 Kapamilya stars who graced the network’s Christmas Special.

Among them were Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Angelica Panganiban, and Vice Ganda. OPM singers Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, and Gary Valenciano were also present at the event.

Perhaps, one of the highlights of the star-studded event was the “Ere” performance of Kapamilya actors, including its hitmaker Juan Karlos Labajo, Kyle Echarri, Zaijan Jaranilla, and Elijah Canlas, among others.

The ABS-CBN Christmas Special, which coincides with the network’s 70th anniversary celebration, will be divided into two parts and will air this weekend via Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
