#JusticeforErika also trends after calls for justice for fellow dog, Killua

AFTER the Justice for Killua hashtag trended in social media and gathered nationwide attention, netizens were quick to make another call for justice, this time for the aspin named Erika, who was brutally killed by a Korean in Malate, manila on March 9, 2024.

The hashtag Justice For Erika likewise trended on social media as netizens pointed out that even animals have their rights.

It will be recalled that the Manila Police District (MPD) arrested the suspect identified as Jung Seong Ho, 42. 

Reports said that he stabbed to death a dog in Malate, Manila.

Prior to his arrest, the police said the Korean was bitten by a stray dog while walking around Remedios Street, Barangay 700 in Malate, at around 4:10 a.m. 

Investigations showed that the suspect went inside a grill house in the area and asked for assistance in cleaning up the wound on his feet.

But when he entered the grill house, he saw Erika, a pet dog, sitting beside Angelo Bueno, the restaurant’s waiter. 

Bueno and another waiter at the grill house attended to the Korean and took him in the establishment’s comfort room to wash his wound. 

But after cleaning his wound, the police said the suspect took a knife from the kitchen and then went outside where the other dogs started barking at him. 

Ericka, the pet dog, was also outside. This was were the suspect saw it and stabbed it four times with the kitchen knife, leading to the dog’s immediate death. 

The suspect went after another dog and stabbed it, then threw it away before going back to the restaurant’s comfort room. 

The Korean is facing violation of the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 and malicious mischief.

Netizens quickly said even animals have rights which should be enforced.
