Justice for Killua the Golden Retriever

Trigger warning: mention of animal cruelty

THE HASHTAG “JusticeForKillua” is trending on X (formerly Twitter) after a furbaby lost his life in the hands of a cruel man.

In a Facebook post made by Killua’s furmom, Vina Rachelle, she revealed how Killua was intentionally killed by a man in their area and later put Killua’s body inside a sack.

CCTV footage taken in front of Vina’s house, which was posted on Facebook, showed how the man chased after Killua, hitting the dog repeatedly as it ran around to get away from him. As of writing, the video has garnered over 859,000 views and 43,000 reactions.

In a separate Facebook post, a video showed the man who killed Killua talking to Killua’s furparent. In his defense, he told Killua’s owner that the reason he killed the dog was because it attacked him.

The man later took Killua’s body out of the sack, revealing the remains of the furbaby.

Killua’s furmom wrote on Facebook about how Killua could not go outside their house because the gate was locked. However, they have yet to determine how the furbaby was able to get out of their house, as Killua was used to staying inside.

She also said that if Killua indeed bit anyone, it could not justify killing her pet.

“He was asking for apology, but no sorry could ever replace my baby,” wrote Vina Rachelle.

With the story being publicized on social media platforms, netizens—particularly on X—started seeking justice for the innocent Golden Retriever.

An X user posted pictures of Killua, expressing how their hearts hurt for what happened to the dog.

Another X user shared her despair over Killua’s cruel death.

Meanwhile, another X user said Golden Retrievers were one of the most gentle and sweetest dogs, and despite their size, the little giant did not deserve the cruelty.

While many netizens shared their sympathy for the death of Killua, some expressed their anger toward the man who killed Killua.

An X user posted how the man will always be remembered as the “dog killer” who deserved to rot in jail.

One of them even claimed that violent people deserved violent punishment.

In another FB post, Vina Rachelle said she could not reply to everyone asking for an update. She also said that she could not disclose information but that she will make sure to get justice for her furbaby and to stop animal abuse in their area.

She thanked everyone who supported Killua and for the help they received.

“Killua is probably happy na madaming nagmamahal sakanya aside from his family. #JusticeForKillua,” she said.
