Juan Karlos to drop Christmas single in November

FANS of Juan Karlos Labajo will be receiving an early Christmas gift from the singer-songwriter, as he is set to release a new single very soon.

The “ERE” hitmaker shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that he just finished working on a new Christmas single, which he will drop on November 10.

[S]ana magustuan ninyo update update nalang sa mga plano tnx luv u all,” he wrote.

The announcement of the forthcoming song comes as the 22-year-old singer reached one milestone after another with “ERE.”

The hit first took the world by storm when it became the first Filipino song to debut on Spotify’s global chart with 1.22 million streams, according to chart data on October 8.

“ERE,” which delivers that painful feeling of being abandoned, was first released in August before being included in Labajo’s latest album “Sad Songs and Bullshit Part 1” in September.

The single also emerged as the first Filipino song to enter the Top 100 of Spotify’s global chart with 1.45 million streams.

It then topped the Billboard Philippines Songs chart on October 16, surpassing “3D” by BTS member Jungkook and American rapper Jack Harlow.

Labajo also performed “ERE” live with Danish pop band Lukas Graham at the latter’s Philippine concert.

The song was also featured in the teen drama series “Senior High,” where Labajo stars as Gino Acosta.

Live-performance videos

On October 28, Labajo dropped a live-performance video of “may halaga pa ba ako sa’yo??”

This follows the release of the live-performance video of “Gabi,” featuring Filipino singer-songwriter Zild Benitez.

Both songs are part of the nine-track “Sad Songs and Bullshit Part 1” album, which also includes “Sad Songs and Bullshit,” “Manhid,” “Paruparo,” “Time Machine,” “Lumisan,” and “Tapusin Na Natin To,” featuring Ben&Ben’s Paolo Benjamin.

Labajo released the live-performance videos of “ERE” and “Tapusin Na Natin To” on September 23 and October 7, respectively.

The singer-songwriter is set to release the second part of his latest album in 2024.
